Serious incident at the Port of Durres, 24-year-old man loses his life after coming into contact with electricity during work on board (NAME)

A fatal incident was recorded a short while ago at the port of Durres, where a 24-year-old man lost his life after being electrocuted while working on board.

Official sources indicate that the victim is Avaz Yafarov, 24 years old, of Azerbaijani nationality and part of the crew of the ship "Kyebele". The ship was moored at pier no. 2 and was unloading its cargo of wheat.

The immediate assistance provided by the crew and port services failed to save him.

At around 17:50, the Azerbaijani citizen, JA, 24 years old, a sailor on a Panamanian-flagged ship, was transported to the emergency room of Durres Hospital, but died on the way.

The 24-year-old, working on the ship, is suspected of coming into contact with electricity.

The investigation team is at the scene and is working to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
