Italy/ 76-year-old Albanian man threatens his wife with a knife, police intervene

A serious incident has been recorded in Bastia, Umbria, where a 76-year-old man threatened his wife with a large knife, prompting immediate police intervention.

According to official information from the Assisi Police, everything happened after an alarming call to the emergency number 112.

The elderly man's wife, fearing for her life, sought help after her husband, who had health problems, became aggressive and grabbed a knife, threatening her.

Police officers, who quickly arrived at the scene, found the man in a serious emotional state and with the knife still in his hand. Thanks to the quick and professional intervention, he was calmed down and disarmed without incident.

Immediately after the incident, the 76-year-old man was handed over to the medical staff of the 118 emergency service for treatment, while he was criminally prosecuted for the criminal offense of aggravated threat.

The knife has been seized by authorities.
