SPAK postpones investigations against Arben Ahmetaj for the umpteenth time

The Special Court has approved the request of SPAK to postpone for the umpteenth time the investigations against Arben Ahmetaj regarding the “Buka” file. The Special Court gave the investigative body another 3 months to complete the investigations regarding the charge of abuse of office.
Apparently, the prosecution has still not found evidence against the former deputy prime minister.
Arben Ahmetaj is accused by SPAK of having favored the privatization of the company "Buka sha" by businessman Lirim Fezollari. The investigation into Ahmetaj in this matter began after the Myderizi family filed a complaint, who claimed that they lost the property, while SPAK raised suspicions that the privatization brought a damage of 7 billion lek to the state and the legitimate owners.
Meanwhile, Arben Ahmetaj is wanted by the Albanian justice system for the incinerators case, accused of the criminal offenses of corruption, money laundering and concealment of assets, after the court ordered him to be held in prison. Last month, SPAK postponed the investigation for the third time until June 23rd for this issue as well.
A property investigation is also being conducted against Ahmetaj, as part of which two villas, apartments and bank accounts have been seized.
