Accident at Paskuqan construction site, worker dies after 12 days in coma

Petrit Alkollari, the 58-year-old who was injured on July 27 at a construction site in Paskuqan, has died after several days in the care of doctors.

The news was announced by a family member to News 24, who said that Alkollari lost his life yesterday evening and was buried today.

The incident, which occurred 12 days ago, was initially reported as a work accident, where Alkollari was seriously injured, while police arrested the site engineer, 56-year-old Agim Spahiu, for violating safety regulations at work.

The family of the deceased 58-year-old says that Alkollari spent 12 days in a coma and had very serious fractures to his head.

According to him, he had no hope of surviving since the first day of hospitalization, as only 7 hours after the 58-year-old arrived at the hospital, he was intubated and placed in intensive care, where he remained until he passed away last evening.

This development makes the case even more serious and it is expected that the investigations will be deepened to determine the specific responsibilities that led to the loss of the worker's life.
