Arrested for the murder of Renato Hoxha, Armando Gega remains in prison

The Vlora Court has remanded in prison citizen Kleanth Bylyku alias Armando Gega, who is accused of being one of the persons involved in the murder of Renato Hoxha.

The 42-year-old was arrested by police on August 1, while traveling in a white Audi. Gega is not an unknown name for the Vlora Blues, as he has previously been convicted of illegal possession of weapons.

Armando Gega has been arrested as one of the suspected perpetrators of the murder of a 58-year-old man, in April 2025, in the city of Vlora, the guard of the palace under construction in the city of Vlora, Renato Hoxhaj.

Meanwhile, the Police have also managed to identify the perpetrator of the murder. It is a Romanian citizen, who played the role of the executioner. After the murder, he managed to leave Albania. Bylyku played the role of an assistant in the murder, while the shooter was the Romanian.

Eris Mehmetaj was also arrested on April 30th for Hoxhaj's murder, accused of being an accomplice. Mehmetaj is suspected of having provided the vehicle in which the perpetrator was traveling in Vlora on the day of the incident. He was a friend of Roan Brahimi, who was executed in Greece, and on social media he showed off his luxurious life in Dubai.

The investigation team suspects that the execution of the 58-year-old was ordered from Dubai, where criminal groups are based. There are suspicions that the victim may have been an informant for the opposing group.
