VIDEO/ "I did what I wanted!" - Albanian man stabs ex-wife in the face in Greece, 50-year-old loses part of her vision

A shocking event occurred in Thasos, where a 50-year-old Albanian woman was brutally attacked with a knife by her ex-husband, also Albanian, in the middle of the street, ending up in the hospital with serious injuries.
According to the video released by Greek media, the terrified woman runs into a mini-market near her apartment to escape the hands of her ex-husband.
Her efforts were in vain, as the 55-year-old stabbed her in the face and head. The 50-year-old then fell to the ground as local residents tried to help her.
"She was locked inside. He broke the glass and entered through the window. She came out barefoot, running towards the store to escape," said one of the witnesses.
"She came in crying. Two minutes later, he came in too. He followed her behind the shelves. I pulled her out to get away, I tried to hold the aggressor, but he pushed me and went out after her. Then I heard screams," the mini-market employee said.
A few meters away, the assailant grabbed the 50-year-old woman and stabbed her, leaving her bleeding in the middle of the street. “He had cut her badly. A little later, the ambulance and the police arrived,” a neighbor told the Albanian woman.
Police then arrested the 55-year-old, in whose bag were found not only knives, but also a scalpel and a screwdriver.
The Albanian is said to have said nothing to the police officers who arrested him. He did not speak at all during the interrogation, and according to the evidence, when one person said to him: "And now what did you do? You are going to jail," he is said to have replied: " What I wanted to do, I did."
Meanwhile, his ex-wife, who was stabbed, was taken to the hospital and is out of danger, but has lost 25% of her vision in one eye and her face has suffered serious injuries from the stab wounds.
Greek media reports that the 55-year-old had arrived from Albania on the 1st of this month. He was unfamiliar with the area and was asking residents in Albanian, claiming to be the "brother of the woman" and looking for her house.
After receiving the information, he went to the apartment where the 50-year-old woman lived with her new partner of three years and started an argument with her.
"This man is her ex-husband. This girl has been here in Theologos for about three years, with another partner. This was his first time on the island. He didn't know the area, he was asking some people there in Albanian, he said 'I am this lady's brother and I am looking for her house and I don't know where it is' and they showed him the house," says a village resident.
