Ferry passenger disappears! Albania search operation from Cape Stillo to the Semani estuary

The National Search and Rescue Center, in close cooperation with the Armed Forces, Border Police and Italian authorities, is conducting an extensive search operation for the person reported missing from the international ferry "AKKA".

It is learned that throughout Sunday, an intensive search was carried out from Cape Stillo in the south to the mouth of the Semani River in the north.

The search and rescue operation involved 1 TB2 Air Force Drone, 1 UH-60 Military Helicopter (with 3 personnel), 1 P05 Navy patrol boat (with 4 personnel) and 1 jet ski (with 2 personnel). Also, 4 Border Police patrol vehicles with a total of 13 personnel were deployed to search for the still unidentified citizen.

The operation was conducted in continuous inter-institutional and international coordination, following every search and rescue protocol at sea, but without result. It is also learned that the operation will continue in the coming days, depending on developments and sea conditions.
