Big fire at Bushati landfill! Firefighters from Tirana, Lezha and Kamza are urgently dispatched

A large fire broke out this Sunday at the Bushati landfill, where the situation remains extremely problematic.
The Shkodra District Prefecture announced this evening that the fire is still active, favored by wind conditions, while the situation is being managed and kept under operational control by structures on the ground.
It is learned that over 20 municipal firefighters with 3 fire engines have been deployed on the ground, in cooperation with landfill workers and the Municipal Police. Units from the municipalities of Shkodër, Lezhë, Tirana and Kamëz have also been deployed in support, with additional equipment and personnel, ensuring a coordinated inter-institutional response.
It is also reported that work is being done with heavy equipment, excavators and trucks, to isolate the fire and limit its spread, while the water supply continues uninterrupted through the tanker engaged in the field.
The fire has involved urban waste, and so far does not pose a danger to the homes surrounding this landfill.
