Bolsonaro backs his eldest son for presidential candidacy in 2026 elections

According to the report, the conversation between the two took place during a visit by Flavio to the Federal Police headquarters in Brasilia, where Jair Bolsonaro is serving a sentence related to organizing an attempted coup.

The news had an immediate impact on Brazil's financial markets. The national currency weakened by more than 1.5% against the US dollar, while the main stock exchange index, Bovespa, fell by 1.8%.
