Which countries have strategic oil reserves and how much do they own?

Faced with the crisis caused by the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, the 32 member countries of the International Energy Agency have agreed to release 400 million barrels of oil from their strategic reserves, the largest coordinated intervention in history to stabilize global energy markets.
Strategic petroleum reserves are emergency storage facilities held by governments for use in times of crisis, such as wars or supply disruptions.
According to the IEA, member countries have over 1.2 billion barrels of oil in public reserves, as well as about another 600 million barrels held by private industry, but which can be made available in emergencies, Aljazeera writes.
Which countries have the largest reserves?
China is considered the country with the largest strategic reserves in the world. Although it does not publish official data, its reserves are estimated to exceed 1.1 billion barrels. They are mainly located in the eastern and southern coastal areas, such as Shandong, Zhejiang and Hainan.
United States of America
The US holds about 415 million barrels of oil in its strategic reserves. These storage facilities are managed by the Department of Energy and can cover about 200 days of net imports. Washington has already begun releasing some of these reserves to deal with the crisis.
Japan has about 470 million barrels of oil in emergency reserves, enough for more than 250 days of domestic consumption. Tokyo has also started using the reserves to cope with market shortages.
The UK has around 68 million barrels of oil (crude and refined products), which can cover around 90 days of consumption. It is part of the IEA's joint plan to release reserves.
The main EU states also hold significant reserves:
Germany – about 177 million barrels
France – about 120 million barrels
Spain – about 150 million barrels
Italy – about 76 million barrels
