The new Prime Minister of Great Britain, Keir Starmer announced the new composition of the government cabinet, including two ministers who were members of the former cabinet during the era of Tony Blair and Gordon Brown.
Jacqui Smith is returning as education minister – a post she first covered 25 years ago under then-prime minister Tony Blair, before later becoming the UK's first female home secretary.
She has not been elected as an MP, so she will be given a college, join the House of Lords and then re-enter the government.
Douglas Alexander held several cabinet roles in the last Labor government under Gordon Brown and has now been appointed business minister in Starmer's cabinet after returning to Parliament as an MP.
