Macron changes the date of the G7 Summit for Trump's sake, due to the American president's birthday!

France has "politely changed the dates" of the upcoming G7 summit "to take into account Donald Trump's agenda".

A senior US official told AFP on Monday. The official was reacting to a Politico report that the summit, originally scheduled for June 14-16, had been postponed to June 15-17.

The US president is hosting a mixed martial arts bout at the White House on June 14, his 80th birthday.

"As the leader of the free world, our partners deemed it necessary for President Trump to attend the G7 summit. They graciously changed the dates to accommodate the American president's agenda," a senior White House official said.

"The summit date is the result of consultations with all our G7 partners," the Elysee Palace commented.

The United States, Japan, Canada, France, Italy, Germany and the United Kingdom make up the "Group of Seven".

Each country takes turns organizing the ministerial meetings and the summit of heads of state and government that take place every year.
