Five drones flew over military base, France on high alert

Five drones have flown over the Ile Long military base in Brest, western France, immediately raising concerns. The drones have been identified as being located in the premises where the nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines of the French nuclear deterrent force are located.

The base is protected by a force of 120 French gendarmerie and marines. It houses four nuclear submarines of the French deterrence force, one of which is always on duty at sea.

Drone flights have multiplied over airports, military bases and other critical infrastructure in Northern Europe in recent months, raising concerns in many countries.
