"The regime has shut down the internet to hide the massacre", over 500

Iran has warned it will retaliate if the United States launches military strikes, while the regime of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is intensifying its crackdown on protesters.

The warning comes as the death toll from the protests has risen sharply, reaching over 500 dead after two weeks of unrest, according to the US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency. Thousands of people have also been arrested.

According to medical sources, the situation is dramatic.

A doctor has stated that in one night alone, at least 217 deaths were recorded in six hospitals in Tehran.

Iranian activist Masih Alinejad says sources inside Iran speak of hundreds of protesters killed by security forces.

"The regime has shut down the internet to hide a massacre," she declares.

Meanwhile, Iranian authorities have warned of extreme punishment. Iran's attorney general said protesters could face the death penalty, describing them as "enemies of God." Tehran's chief prosecutor also warned of the use of capital punishment for those accused of "acts of vandalism."

The protests, which began over rising living costs, have turned into a broad movement against the regime that has ruled Iran since the 1979 revolution. Despite the violence, the protests have continued, with thousands of citizens once again taking to the streets, defying security forces.

Hundreds of cities, including the capital, are reported to be in chaos, with streets engulfed in flames and buildings destroyed. Law enforcement has used tear gas and firearms to disperse crowds.

Meanwhile, the total internet outage has entered its third day.

The NetBlocks organization warned that this measure poses a serious threat to the security and lives of citizens, describing it as a deliberate tactic and not a technical problem.

Hospitals are overwhelmed, while doctors report that some health institutions are in a state of crisis due to the large influx of injured and victims.

Footage posted on social media shows relatives identifying the bodies of protesters in Tehran morgues, as fears of a massacre hidden by the informational isolation continue to grow.
