MP Balliu challenges the law, his "Mercedes" with 27 unpaid fines in

The Member of Parliament, Klevis Balliu, who is known for several denunciations against this government, turns out to be a serial violator of road traffic rules.

"MaShqip" has exclusively learned that the Mercedes vehicle, with license plates AB05PD, in the name of 55-year-old former publisher Fahri Balliu (father) and used by the MP, has accumulated 27 unpaid fines from the Traffic Police, with a total value of around 87,500 new lek.

According to the Traffic Police system, fines ranging from 1,700 lek to 4,900 lek for violations with interest-delays have been registered in almost every area of Tirana, from Astiri to the Fruit and Vegetable Market, from the Store to Digicom, from various bars and cafes, Oksigjeni, Megastore, Eurosig, Bulevardi, the Vilave area but also to Zgara Korçarja, turning the city into a personal map of violations.

According to the data that "MaShqip" has provided, only two of these fines belong to the period July-December 2024, while the other 25 were imposed during 2025, which indicates that the behavior was neither accidental nor temporary.

Despite the legal deadline for payment having passed, none of the fines have been paid, while ordinary citizens face vehicle impoundment or immediate penalties for much smaller amounts. In this case, the Traffic Police do not act!

The irony lies in the fact that Balliu is paid by citizens' taxes and holds a mandate that requires respect for the law, but it seems that the law prohibits it for everyone, except for the MP's Mercedes. A "record" that does not require a parliamentary investigation, but simply a stop at the payment counter.
