The US Senate approves a resolution limiting the president's powers to wage war with Iran, here's how Trump reacted

US President Donald Trump has criticized the United States Senate, which approved a resolution aimed at limiting the president's powers to take military action against Iran without Congressional approval.
Through his "Social Truth" platform, Trump described the vote as "inappropriate and meaningless," expressing his dissatisfaction with the senators, despite the Senate being controlled by Republicans.
"So, I have Iran in deep trouble, about to collapse... and the United States Senate decides to hold an inappropriate and meaningless vote on the War Powers Act," Trump wrote.
The resolution was approved by 50 votes to 48. It provides for limiting the president's powers to take military action against Iran and calls for an end to the conflict, except in cases where there is a clear authorization from Congress.
Although the vote is largely symbolic and is not expected to produce immediate legal consequences, it is considered a strong political signal and a distancing of some senators from President Trump regarding his management of the crisis with Iran.
