"No roadside sales", the action for public spaces also affects farmers

The nationwide campaign to free up public spaces has also affected farmers in the Frakulla area in Fier, who for several months of the year, mainly during the summer season, sell their agricultural products on the side of the Levan-Tepelena national road.

After initially moving them 20 meters away from the roadbed, the Territory Protection Inspectorate has now asked them to remove their tents and leave permanently.

This order for farmers means bankruptcy and the inability to make a living.

Alongside the farmers are also casual buyers.

Farmers have also raised concerns about the state's failure to compensate them for the land it took for the construction of the road, as well as the failure to build secondary roads that would enable them to transport agricultural produce.
