How to receive disability payment, the role of seniority! Documents required to submit

Every insured person benefits from sickness benefits when it is proven by a medical report that he is temporarily unable to work and this inability is not the result of an accident at work or an occupational disease.
According to the conditions set out in the law on social insurance, the insured person has the right to receive sickness benefits within 30 calendar days after the end of his mandatory insurance. All the details on the documentation and the method of applying for temporary disability payments were provided by pension expert Kujtim Hoxha from the “News 24” studio.
Temporary disability benefits are available to citizens who are employed, employed in the state or private sector, but not self-employed. Up to 14 days are paid by the employer, and then by social security. If you become unable to work for a short time, over two calendar weeks, certification of incapacity for work is required in order to benefit from a temporary pension that is calculated at 70 to 80 percent of the net salary of the last 6 months. There are several conditions for this. It is the length of service that increases or decreases the amount of the benefit.
INABILITY TO WORK
Hoxha briefly mentioned the issue of documentation that citizens must submit to benefit, while also clarifying the scheme regarding the calculation of the amount that citizens benefit. Temporary disability, i.e. medical reports, according to him, lasts from 14 days to 6 months.
"Up to 14 days are paid by the employer, while for a longer period it is paid by the insurance fund. The documents that must be submitted are the medical report, which is sent to the employer, now carried out by 'e-Albania'. The seniority must be submitted, because if you have up to 10 years of work, you earn 70% of the net salary of the last 6 months. If the seniority is over 10 years, you earn 80% of the net salary of the last 6 months", - he said.
The period of benefit for temporary disability due to illness, for those receiving a partial disability pension, is up to 3 months from the date of commencement of payment. For seasonal and temporary employees, who have been employed for at least 3 months in the last 12 months, the benefit period is up to 75 days.
