Taxes uncover tax evasion scheme in Tirana, 585 thousand euros undeclared

The General Directorate of Taxes (GDT) uncovered a tax evasion scheme in an entity in Tirana.
Through an in-depth investigation and a specialized audit by the Tax Investigation, 585 thousand euros of undeclared money were found, which had been kept outside the tax system for more than a year.
The investigation was initiated after a complaint from a citizen, who provided valuable information about the subject's suspected activity.
"After the verifications carried out, it turned out that there was a major discrepancy between the real business activity and the tax declarations and taxes that this entity had submitted to the tax administration," the DPT announced.
The intervention of the task force and tax investigation inspectors revealed multiple violations.
During the investigations, goods were found that were not registered, and five employees were identified who were not registered in the tax system.
Also, a computer device that was used to hide income during the period 2024-2025 was seized.
