Do you talk a lot? This can be a warning sign of 4 serious mental conditions

If you're one of those people who likes to talk a lot, you could be in trouble, as talking too much can be an early warning sign of four serious psychological conditions.

Specifically, excessive talking, also known as compulsive talking, involves talking for long periods of time without letting the other person speak, talking about special interests, or interrupting someone to get your thoughts across.

Physician and licensed therapist Carolyn Rubenstein revealed to the DailyMail how this can indicate mental health conditions such as anxiety, ADHD and autism.

Autism

People with autism spectrum disorder often have problems with interaction, as well as limited interests. However, autism is mostly difficult to recognize, and more and more cases reveal autism in adulthood.

Exaggeration in certain interests and also in speech does not necessarily mean that you have autism, but if you do not need to stop your speech or follow eye contact during verbal communication, this may indicate the possibility of autism.

ADHD

ADHD is an attention deficit or hyperactivity disorder, and it's easier to spot than autism. Symptoms are usually seen early in childhood, but can also be seen in old age. Usually, people do not pay attention to their surroundings, cannot easily concentrate on tasks, talk excessively and interrupt others.

"Typically with ADHD, there's a tendency to be impulsive with reduced inhibition. You can say whatever comes to mind without filtering, which you just say and don't think," Rubenstein said.

nightmarish

Although anxious people are generally quiet and do not like to talk too much, this is not always the case. Therapist Rubenstein noted that exaggeration is a common characteristic of this condition.

"There is a tendency for anxiety to be associated with silence. However, people will talk to avoid facing silence. This nervous energy is really dissipated through conversation," he explains.

Bipolar disorder

BPD or bipolar disorder is a mental health condition characterized by extreme mood swings. Thus, a person may have episodes of depression or mania. During a manic episode, people may feel very excited and be more active than usual, which can cause them to talk a lot.

Bipolar disorder can cause rapid or even slurred speech that often does not make sense. This is known as stressed speech, which occurs when someone is thinking so fast that they can't get the words out fast enough.
