Today marks the 7th anniversary of the consecration of Mother Teresa. September 5, the date when Pope Francis decided to sanctify the Catholic nun of Albanian origin, coincides with the day when she, in 1997, passed away.

September 5, the Day of Sanctification of Mother Teresa, has been declared an official holiday. The Council of Ministers approved an amendment to the law "On official holidays" in the country, according to which the date September 19, which is the Day of Beatification of Mother Teresa, was replaced by the date September 5, which is the Day of her Sanctification.
