A recently published World Population Review article listed countries in order of intelligence quotient.
In the article they also explained how these calculations were made which listed countries by intelligence.
A country's average IQ score is calculated by starting with the country's average score on standard IQ tests, fitting well national math, reading and science assessments, and taking into account the overall quality of the data.
The data sources considered in this article differ in the number of variables considered, the depth of analysis, and the duration of the data," World Population Review explains.
The countries that lead the list are Japan, China, South Korea and Taiwan which have an average above 100.
The average IQ in Balkan countries like Bulgaria is 90.99, in Serbia 89.6, in Montenegro 85.78.
As for Albania, it has a coefficient of 81.75 or graded D+, where it ranks among countries like Macedonia, which ranks one country above us with an IQ of 81.91.
The link between education and intelligence
Education and intelligence are closely related, as a stronger education system tends to produce a more intelligent population over time.
With this in mind, some studies use the educational rankings of different countries as a basis for comparing intelligence.
In 2023, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) published its triennial PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) results, which compared the math, reading and science test results of nearly 700,000 students in 81 countries for 2022 .
