How to understand someone's personality and character with just one

Meeting new people is one of the best things in life.

Every important person in our daily lives, friend, boss, colleague, partner or acquaintance, was once just a stranger.

And when we first met, we had no idea we would have the relationship we have now.

It is impossible to learn everything we need to know about someone the first time we meet them, unless we have some gift that helps us immediately understand what kind of people we are dealing with.

In our attempt to get to know someone better, some information can help us, but it doesn't immediately give us many details about the other person's personality.

So, if you want to understand a person's personality and character, there is one question that, according to research, can reveal a lot about the other person.

Just ask the person across from you what they think about someone else.

According to a study from the University of Nebraska, people see our characteristics in others.

Thus, a selfish character will see similar elements in another, while a kind one will see more positive characteristics.

The researchers asked participants to judge the characteristics (both positive and negative) of other people.

The more positively others judged them, the happier and more emotionally stable the participants were.

On the other hand, those who judged others negatively were narcissistic and had more antisocial behavior.

Of course, scientists argue, the fact that a narcissist sees negative elements in others does not mean that he does the same with himself.

In the same way, people with personality disorders may believe that others, for example, are hostile and malicious, even if they cannot recognize similar behaviors in themselves.

As they note, a negative person sees others this way.

In fact, this tendency indicates a higher chance of depression or other psychological disorders.
