Pristina Prosecution Office launches investigations into postal voting

The Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina has authorized the Kosovo Police to launch investigations into the postal voting process in the February 9 parliamentary elections.

This was announced to KosovaPress by the spokesperson for the Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina, Kaltrina Shala.

"Regarding your question, we inform you that the Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina has authorized the Kosovo Police to collect and verify information, but at this stage of the procedure, more detailed details cannot be provided because it would violate the investigative process,"  it said in its response to KosovaPress.

The Vetëvendosje Movement has accused the Democratic League of Kosovo of manipulating postal votes. They have currently appealed to the Supreme Court, requesting the annulment of the LDK's postal votes and a re-vote by mail, writes KosovaPress.

However, the accusations of the LVV have been consistently denied by the Democratic League of Kosovo. In the February 9 elections, the Kosovar diaspora voted in diplomatic missions and through postal voting.

In diplomatic missions, LVV received over 80 percent and LDK was third with 7.3 percent of the votes. Meanwhile, in postal voting, LVV received 51.89 percent and LDK 30.21.
