Where does the soul go when we dream?

Dreaming was an incredibly important part of Native American culture, as it was based on their spiritual practices.
Children were taught to remember dreams, which they could later decode in order to be guided by them, or use them as guides.
But where does the soul go when we dream? Does it remain in our bodies as our minds explore the world of dreams? Or does he become part of the dream and explore the mind?
Native Americans believed that we have three souls: the ego-soul, embodied in spirit; the body-soul, which gives the body energy and life force during the waking state, and the free spirit, which leaves the body during the state of sleep and trance.
According to their belief, a part of the soul goes and explores other dimensions. It operates when the physical body sleeps.
The other two aspects of the soul remain attached to the body, while it is the free spirit that travels in the world of dreams.
