Thought a snake in your boot was disturbing?
That old 19th century idiom is nothing compared to one in your ear.
Shocking footage captured the moment a "surgeon" allegedly tried to remove a live snake that had burrowed into a woman's ear.
The video of the herpetological operation has amassed more than 125,000 views as social media users speculate whether or not the squirming footage is authentic.
"Snake in ear," reads the caption of the strange clip on Facebook, which was posted by an India-based social media star named Chandan Singh to his 20,126 followers.
However, it is unclear where, when or how this unfortunate incident took place, local newspaper Economic Times reported.
In the nearly four-minute clip, an alleged doctor can be seen using tweezers in a desperate attempt to extract the snake. The now-viral clip ends without revealing whether the surgery was successful or not, leaving viewers shocked and horrified.
Regardless of the video's authenticity, this isn't the first time an 'uninvited' has colonized someone's ear canal.
In January, a New Zealand man realized his worst nightmare after a cockroach crawled into his ear and stayed there for three days. Meanwhile, a tourist in Puerto Rico suffered a similar fate to a crab.
