Abilekaj: Seizure of villa in Dhërmi may expand investigations against Balluk

Journalist Enton Abilekaj commented on the latest developments following SPAK's announcement of the seizure of a villa in Dhërmi, which according to investigations is suspected to have been used by former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, while it appears in the name of former national football player, Igli Tare.

According to Abilekaj, this development could have a significant impact on the continuation of asset investigations and bring new political and institutional consequences.

He emphasized on Syri TV that so far a fact that had been rumored earlier has been made official, while it remains to be seen whether the investigations will be expanded further and what consequences they will produce on the political scene.

Abilekaj: At least so far it is not that it is, that is, this was made official today because it was known. Ilir Meta was summoned once, he did not go, and now today he was at SPAK at five o'clock, and until we were introduced to the charges. There was an accusation against both Ilir Meta and Mr. Bllako.

We do not know if this closes the wealth investigation, but this development could change many things. It could once again lead to the parliament requesting Mr. Bllako's immunity, and we will have to take into account that the second time after such pressure as was exerted the first time, I believe that the parliament cannot maintain, cannot maintain immunity anymore. And I believe that international political pressure will increase.
