Ilir Meta seeks freedom, preliminary hearing at the Criminal Court of Kosovo (GJKKO) is held today

The next hearing for former President Ilir Meta will take place this Friday. It is expected to decide whether or not the case will go to trial, or be returned for further investigation.

The last session took place on November 27, where former President Meta was present, but was postponed because the lawyer requested time to familiarize himself with some of the documents.

Meta and Kryemadhi are accused of passive corruption, money laundering and failure to declare assets, while Fatime Kryemadhi, the mother of Monika Kryemadhi, is accused of money laundering.

Meta has been in prison since October 2024, while Kryemadhi is under "compulsory appearance" order.
