Sentenced to two years in prison for abuse of office, the former mayor of Himara appeals the decision to the Supreme Court

The former mayor of Himara, Jorgo Goro, has appealed the decision to the High Court.
The former mayor's appeal was filed today.
Jorgo Goro was released from prison on August 29, 2025.
He served 2 years and 20 days in prison, on charges of abuse of office.
Goro was reported by Fredi Beleri with the claim that in 2016 he donated 4,263 meters of land to his appointed successor at the head of the Municipality, Arqile Bollano.
According to SPAK, this area of land was acquired illegally, as Bollano had previously acquired an area of 7,700 square meters of land based on Law 7501.
