Mustafa Nano focused on the leaders of the two largest political parties. Asked about their engagement in the first democratic movements, Nano analyzed where Rama and Berisha differ.

He had a need and because of that need he was a traitor to Enver Hoxha's children. There are photos with them, he was the Blloku doctor, I understand these things. This does not mean that he was a communist. I do not know if he was really a communist. I see him as a broken character, I do not see him as a communist. I see him as a torn, shattered personality. I do not see him politically. For me, he is not a political phenomenon.
Rama did not like communism. As he has proven, he was anti-communist. When you come from a red background, I'm using it in slang, you have the complex to convince even those on the other side that you have broken away from the family. That's why Rama came up with the thesis "let's hang the communists".
Rama is more civic-minded, this is the advantage that makes the difference. He is a man who, when in power, does not suppress the opposition with violence, does not kill people. This is even considered one of the elements that distinguish him. Rama is the type of Albanian who does not like to govern. He will rule.
"They are the same as Berisha. They have a disproportionate desire to gain power, to keep power, they are the same. The only difference that Rama makes is that he is a more polished guy, both in portraiture and in communication," he told MCN.
