Grida Duma's ex-husband has passed away unexpectedly. The news was announced by former Minister of Integration Majlinda Bregu, who was his colleague at the time in that ministry.
Bregu writes that Ilir Shqina brought to the Ministry of European Integration what is often lacking in the administration: correctness, dignity and prudence as an act of public service. The former Duma MP and Ilir Shqina separated years ago, while they have 1 child.

I just received the sad news of the passing of Ilir Shqina.
I met Ilir when we were both young lecturers at the University, and later I was fortunate to have him by my side as a Diplomatic Advisor at the Ministry of European Integration, in the years when Albania was facing one of the most important phases of the EU membership process.
We did not have the same political beliefs, but Ilir brought to the Ministry of European Integration what is often lacking in the administration: correctness, dignity, and prudence as an act of public service.
Our deepest condolences for this untimely loss to the family and all those who knew and loved him.
Rest in peace, Ilir!
