EP Resolution/ Malaj: Golden chance for the protest! They can impose the agenda in the Assembly

Former Minister of Finance, Arben Malaj, has described the recent European Parliament resolution as an important opportunity for peaceful protests in Albania, arguing that they can be transformed into a real legislative force through constitutional mechanisms.
In a public reaction, Malaj emphasizes that by collecting 20,000 signatures, citizens can present legal initiatives to the Assembly , turning the protest from a civic reaction into an instrument that directly influences decision-making.
According to him, the protest can function as a "People's Party", without the need for a political structure or seal, relying only on citizens and experts.
Malaj proposes four urgent legal initiatives that, according to him, should be undertaken immediately: the cancellation of the changes to the law on protected areas, the repeal of the law on strategic investors, the ban on the participation in tenders of companies headquartered in tax havens, and the legal obligation to apply a bid guarantee in every public procedure.
The former minister argues that initiatives should come directly from citizens and not through MPs, as this would increase public credibility and avoid the influence of political forces.
