Associations demand that Hasit have the status of a municipality! Boçi: We must increase the number, put on the map those territories that deserve it

The Has community has taken the first steps to bring its voice to the Territorial Reform Commission.
At a public meeting held in Tirana, the "Hasi" Association and the Hasjane Diaspora argued that this area should have special municipal status, emphasizing its historical and identity values.
During the meeting, photographic materials and historical evidence reflecting the tradition and culture of the province were presented, while the British Ambassador to Tirana, Nicholas Abbott, was also present.
"So far there has been no official statement about this municipality, but precisely because there is no official statement, fear exists. It would be a sin for all this liberation of values, which explode with the best energies, to be interrupted," said Kujtim Morina, Chairman of the Patriotic Association 'Hasi'.
Diaspora representatives emphasized concern about the emptying of the area and the need to strengthen ties with the homeland.
"We never want Has to be emptied, weakened, especially when faced with territorial challenges. This is a consequence that could tragically cause even more Hasjans to leave. On the contrary, our goal is to do everything to prevent leaving and to strengthen our connection with our homeland," said Uran Derri, coordinator of the 'Hasjane Diaspora'.
The initiative has also received political support from the co-chair of the territorial reform, Luciano Boçi.
"We must increase the number of municipalities, not only to preserve Hasi, but to also place on the map those territories that deserve it, have their own historical and cultural identity and should exist as such," said Boçi.
