"I am a villager, because I am from Surrel!"/ Rama meets with farmers in Dibër: We will create EU-style cooperatives, not like the Çyryks say!
Prime Minister Edi Rama and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Andis Salla held a meeting with farmers in Dibër on new facilities to support this sector, where Rama stated that the government is investing in the establishment of cooperatives, but according to the EU style.
"It is the phase of unification that makes the power, not like the scoundrels who come around to throw mud at everything, not like the former cooperatives, but like the cooperatives of the European Union," said Rama, adding that this "cooperative" will be called the United Agricultural Society (UAS).
The Prime Minister emphasized that the SHBB model will be created between farmers and the municipality, which is a shareholder, not to receive profits, but to function as a partner.
"It's a company that you called 'Dibra Origin', for the European market and for all the Europeans on the boulevard of Tirana, because I myself am a villager, I'm from Surrel," Rama said, adding: " Otherwise, we can't face the big clash that will come when we are in the EU, all that big market and we have to go out one by one, how are we going to sell them, with bags on the streets of Brussels."
Edi Rama: First of all, thank you very much for coming and for taking a serious interest in this phase where we are no longer wanted, but are forced to enter, which is the phase of unity. Unity that creates strength, not like the "scoundrels" who come around to throw mud at everything, so not like the cooperatives of the past, but like the cooperatives of the European Union.
The European Union operates with cooperatives, but unlike communist cooperatives, in European Union cooperatives everyone produces independently and everyone sells together. It's that simple.
By selling together they create a much larger volume, so they have a much stronger negotiating position with the buyer, but on the other hand they harmonize the entire production activity since they sow with one seed, then share the costs of tilling the land, share the costs of caring for the production and then collect, package and sell. United Agricultural Cooperatives, SHBB. This is how they are called in the law to avoid that great fear that comes from the trauma of the past that these socialists are now gathering us in the cooperative. In fact, we have been promoting this work for a long time, and for a long time, and for a long time.
Where this has been done and was done before we instigated it and here we have the living example, which is also the deputy minister, one of the points where rural Albania has flourished, where agricultural Albania has flourished, when three-quarters of the lands in Albania were not cultivated at all, in the south of the country, in Xarre, Konispol, and so on.
An exemplary model where farmers, even Albanians like us, even those who are afraid of cooperatives, but are smart enough to say, "We will sell tangerines," will sell them together so that when those wholesalers come, we will have a large volume and strength. Not to collect them piece by piece. The old people used to say that sheep that are separated from the flock are eaten by the wolf. Even as Ulsiu claims, the people of Dibra said it.
Now, unity is needed here, and for this reason, we have also established support for unity, financial support, institutional support, and an alliance with the state.
So, in Dibër, the SHBB is built between the farmers and the municipality and the municipality is a shareholder, but it is not a shareholder to take the profits from you. It is a shareholder in a company and you had found its name because we were joking, I told you “Dibra United” like Manchester United. I read that you had found it. “Dibra Origin”. Yes, “Dibra Origin”. They did not put the origin of Dibër. “Dibra Origin” in English for the European market. Yes, very good. Okay, for the European market and for all the Europeans on the boulevard of Tirana. Because I am a villager myself, I am from Surrel.
Yes, I understand “Origin”. Do you understand it too? Yes, Dibra Origin, which is something that starts and becomes a brand and then the brand starts to be recognized and because of the brand, people then go and say: do you have “Dibra Origin”? Cherry, apple and so on. “Yes, I have”, – “I want that”. Otherwise, we cannot cope with the big clash that will come when we become members of the European Union. We cannot cope. It is that simple.
All that big market, we will go out and survive? Where will we sell the products? With bags on the streets of Brussels? Where? Then how will food security be achieved? Will everyone go and do analyses in laboratories, will they pay to do the analyses? How will production costs be reduced because they rightly complain about production costs, but production costs are reduced.
Happening now...
