Ana Maria Alcalde, also known as Hanan and dubbed by the media as the "Barbie of Gaza", has become one of the most recognizable faces of the international humanitarian mission sailing to Gaza.
The 46-year-old content creator, originally from Granada, lives in Ceuta with her husband, Amin Abdelkader, a police officer in the local force – and their six children. She is taking part in one of the twenty ships of the mission, which carries a total of more than 500 people, having been tasked with sharing information and images from the journey via social media.
Her TikTok account is approaching one million followers, while her Instagram account has around 300,000. She studied Social Work at the Complutense University of Madrid and has completed postgraduate studies in integration policies.

More than 20 years ago, she converted to Islam, and today her online activity focuses on social and educational issues, combining personal family moments with content about human rights, feminism, and justice.
In 2023, Ana Alcalde received the Lince “Antirracista sin Peros” award, given by the Instituto República y Democracia, which recognized her contribution to the fight against racism.
