Barcelona and Real Madrid commit to a spectacular end to the season

Real Madrid and Barcelona are approaching the end of the season fighting for absolutely every trophy. The Champions League and Copa del Rey competitions could give football fans a historic scenario, where the two teams face off directly for the three most important titles.

The battle for La Liga -  Ancelotti's team and Flick's are engaged in a fierce duel for the La Liga title, separated by just 3 points after 29 weeks of the championship. Atletico Madrid's consecutive failures have removed the "Colchoneros" from the race for the top spot, but mathematically they are not out of the game.

A decisive moment will come on May 11, when Barça and Real Madrid face off at Montjuïc, in a match worth more than three points. In addition to this challenge, Barça have tough away matches against Betis and Athletic Bilbao. On the other hand, Real Madrid have to face Valencia, Sevilla, Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad, among others.

A historic Champions League final –  In the Champions League, luck and the draw have created the possibility of an “El Clásico” in the grand final in Munich, something that has never happened before. Before that happens, Real Madrid must eliminate Arsenal, while Barça will face Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-finals.

According to Opta, Real Madrid have a 26% chance of reaching the final, while their chances of winning the Champions League are 13.6%. On the other hand, Barca are the favourites according to The Analyst, with an 80% chance of reaching the semi-finals, a 41.5% chance of reaching the final in Munich and a 20.4% chance of lifting the trophy.

King's Cup, the verdict is given first –  Before the Champions League, the fate of the King's Cup will be decided. Real Madrid qualified on Tuesday against Real Sociedad at the "Bernabéu", defending a minimal advantage from the first leg (the return match ended 4-4). Meanwhile, Barça faces Atletico Madrid at the "Metropolitan" tonight, in a challenge that will be like a final for Flick's team, after the draw in the first leg.

A spectacular end to the season –  Nothing is decided yet, but this season could bring a titanic battle between Real Madrid and Barcelona for three major titles. Such a scenario would be incredible for football fans, but perhaps a tough test for the hearts of fans of both teams. In the end, the field will decide the winner.
