"Since I was little, I liked martial arts and watched them. My father understood that I wanted to be a part of it and at the age of 10 I started it as a sport and here I am now". This is how Desara Ndoci started her passion for judo, a 15-year-old who has often had to leave many things behind, and who has encountered prejudices, but this has not prevented her from continuing with this sport.
"It is very difficult, since most people say that this is a girl who practices martial arts and they are surprised, but I have succeeded even with prejudices, it has not affected me at all because judo is the most important thing for me, I left society behind most of things to deal with judo and this thing has not left me behind with others", says Desarar.
Desara, who has participated in various tournaments, the most recent of which was the one in Peja, which was awarded with a gold medal in a not very easy match for her, but Ndoci says that a little self-confidence is enough to achieve what will.
"The coach and I have trained a lot to get the gold medal, I knew because I had the confidence that I would get it. The race was tiring, but with the tireless work we did, I made it.
Altin Përgjergji, who has been training Desare for 5 years now, calls him a find for the "Beselidhje" team.
"Desara has been a find, because it is difficult to find a girl who wants to do combat sports, wants to be hit, to hit others, it shows the mentality and speaks more about Desara", he said.
In the last tournament they took part in, Pergjergji describes it as a tournament in the house of champions, but her fighting spirit gave her the gold medal.
"The championship was organized in the house of champions, in Peja, where we have an Olympic champion and a world champion, and Desara has faced athletes of European level and beyond after training. Those girls who were in front of Desara were very prepared and with a clear motive only to win. But Desara from Albania showed her strong character, showed that she is strong and shows that she has a perspective for the future", he added.
