Leao injured, but called up by Portugal/ Coach Allegri's clarification: He can't play

After a training stoppage on Friday, Rafa Leao underwent an MRI on Saturday morning which showed no adductor injury. The Rossoneri striker, who was not called up for the match against Torino, is however expected to travel to Portugal after the weekend for a further check-up with the medical staff of his national team, which will play friendlies against Mexico and the United States.

"Rafa is absolutely unable to play, during the preparation for the match he felt the worsening of the adductor discomfort," Allegri said after the match with Torino. Milan expect that, at most, national team coach Roberto Martinez will only call him up to do further examinations, to confirm the injury and then allow Leao to return immediately to Italy for treatment.

The suspension came after an already difficult week, following the clash at the Olimpico with Pulisic and the subsequent argument with coach Allegri during the substitution. A situation that was later resolved by the Milan coach himself, who will anyway have to give up on the Portuguese, who is once again facing the discomfort in the right adductor that has been bothering him for months.
