National team assistant coach, Zabaleta: We hope to take Albania to a World Cup for the first time

Pablo Zabaleta in a Coaches Voice interview where he talked about what he has learned from his coaches and the experience he is currently going through on the bench also touched on his experience in the Albanian national team.

Albania's deputy coach said that after qualifying for Euro 2024, the goal is to participate in a World Championship for the first time.

"The work we did was reflected in that historic qualification for Albania as the first in the group. Then the representation in a group with Italy, Croatia and Spain, among the best teams that were there.

"However, we were a competitive team. Now let's hope to take Albania to a World Cup for the first time. It's not easy, but we believe in our work and together we will repeat it," he said.

Albania is in a difficult group in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers with England, Serbia, Latvia and Andorra, where after the first 2 matches it has 3 points.
