"6,500 police officers trained for electoral crimes and guaranteeing the May 11 process"

For about a month, 6,500 State Police officers from the grassroots level to its highest structures have been trained on how to proceed with electoral crimes and how to guarantee order during the May 11 process.
The Director of Public Order at the State Police, Agron Çeli, said in a statement to the media that "for several months, the State Police has been engaged in training the people who will participate in this electoral process."
"In implementation of the obligations and legal responsibilities of the State Police to guarantee a regular electoral process, we have drafted a work program that has reached the local directorates at the grassroots level. Trainings have been conducted in cooperation with SPAK, OSCE, CEC and the General Prosecutor's Office. The trainings have been organized according to levels and started in February, ending in March for 6,500 police officers from various structures who have been trained", Çeli underlined.
According to him, 1,500 police officers from the Criminal Investigation Structures have also been trained, who have conducted separate training in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Offices of the Courts of General Jurisdiction in all local directorates.
In these trainings, police officers received general knowledge about the security of facilities as well as their engagement during the election campaign in electoral activities and obligations until the end of the vote counting.
Asked if any cases of electoral crimes have been identified so far, Çeli said that "according to the provisions of the Criminal Code for electoral crimes, we are implementing them in all local structures of the State Police in cooperation with SPAK and the District Prosecutors' Offices, we are implementing them every day in all local police structures. There have been cases, for all cases that we have received notification, the structures have been notified and every illegality that has been identified in the field has been dealt with", said Çeli.
He announced that "we are now in the second phase, the election campaign phase, and we are working every day to guarantee order and security in the electoral activities of political entities."
