Aida Hajnaj seeks a second mandate to lead BKH, SPAK: She will undergo all testing phases! If she does not pass, the race will be opened again

The Special Prosecution Office announced a few days ago that it has initiated the procedure for the reappointment of the director of the National Bureau of Investigation. For 5 years in a row, this institution was headed by Aida Hajnaj Veizaj, who is entitled by law to reappointment for another term. However, she must first undergo all the testing phases and, if she passes them successfully, be reappointed to this position for a second 5-year term.
But as SPAK opened the procedure, Aida Hajnaj, through a letter addressed to the institution for information and to the High Prosecutorial Council, requested information regarding the commission that would conduct the evaluation, while sources say that she is requesting automatic reappointment.
The Council had listed this issue for discussion at Tuesday's meeting, but did not take it up for consideration, which will likely be a subject for future plenary meetings.
The Special Prosecution Office responded to News24's interest regarding this matter and explained that it has initiated the procedure for the reappointment of the current Director of the BKH and that the selection committee consists of Altin Dumani (Director of the Special Prosecution Office) and special prosecutors Arben Kraja and Behar Dibra.
According to SPAK, this commission is reviewing the request for reappointment of the current Director of the BKH, Ms. Hajnaj, who, according to the law, must undergo all stages of the process, from logical reasoning testing, medical examination, physical test, interview, background verification, asset declaration, and polygraph test.
"This process is carried out only for the incumbent Director. After evaluating the incumbent Director's progress through all the above phases, the Commission assesses whether the candidate meets the legal criteria for reappointment," SPAK emphasized.
So, according to the prosecution, if Ms. Hajnaj successfully passes all the testing phases, then the commission proposes her to the KLP and she is reappointed for the next 5 years. Otherwise, the competition is opened for other candidates aiming for this position. "If she does not successfully pass these phases, then the Selection Commission considers the "reappointment" process closed and announces the competition for the selection of a new Director of the BKH," SPAK concluded.
