Escape like in the movies/ The Albanian who brought Switzerland back to its feet
In Baden, Switzerland, a prisoner managed to escape during a transport. The Albanian was in handcuffs and has not yet been caught, despite an immediate search operation. It now appears that only one employee of the security company Securitas was assigned to the transport.

Shortly before 9 a.m. on Thursday, a prisoner escaped in Baden AG. The 23-year-old Albanian was able to escape just before he was about to board a prison vehicle.

According to police, the wanted person was wearing black pants, a black jacket with white-patterned sleeves, and white shoes. At the time of his escape, he was wearing handcuffs.

Despite an immediate search with the help of several service dogs, the prisoner has not yet been found. There is no evidence that he poses a danger to the public, but police are warning that no one should approach him. If anyone sees him, they should call 117 immediately.

The major search operation has so far been unsuccessful.

On Friday afternoon, the Aargau Cantonal Police, in cooperation with the Zurich Cantonal Police, intensified the search for the fugitive: a large-scale search operation was carried out in the Otelfingen ZH area. According to BRK News, at around 3 p.m. there was information that the prisoner could be in the Lägern area. This was confirmed by the spokesperson for the Aargau Cantonal Police, Pascal Wenzel.

The search was made very difficult by the dense forest and the steep mountain terrain. The operation involved two cantonal police units, a helicopter, service dogs and various technical equipment. According to police spokesman Daniel Saridis for Blick, the fugitive had not been caught by Saturday morning. Friday's search ended without results. How the search will continue will be decided by the head of the operation, Saridis added.

The Aargauer Zeitung newspaper speculated in an article on Friday evening that the prisoner may have had accomplices. It is hard to imagine, it says, that the fugitive would have escaped without an escape vehicle or something similar waiting for him. As police spokesman Pascal Wenzel confirmed to the newspaper, the prisoner's transport was carried out by a single employee of the security firm Securitas. This is common practice due to the large number of transfers and transports.

The person fled in a split second – before he could board the prisoner bus. “He was chased on foot by the security guard,” Wenzel said. After the public announcement of the search, several pieces of information were received from citizens, which are now being verified.
