Arrest of Roven Zeka/ SPAK seizes security block footage, here's who he contacted

The Special Prosecution Office (SPAK) has seized video footage from the Security Block, where the head of the Tirana Traffic Police, Roven Zeka, was held in a cell after his arrest.
It is learned that the seizure of the footage was done because there is information that police officials have contacted Roven Zeka.
According to media reports, a police director and three police chiefs have had contact with the head of the Roads Department, which is not permitted by law since Zeka is suspected of corruption. Meanwhile, a businessman's cellphone was also seized for the same issue.
We recall that on April 19, by order of SPAK, the chief of Tirana's Traffic Police, Roven Zeka, the chief of accidents, Sokol Novaku, and the officer of the Judicial Police, Edison Tabaku, were arrested.
They were arrested on charges of committing the criminal offense of "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions", committed in collaboration.
Tabaku, Zeka and Novaku are suspected of having received bribes in connection with an accident recorded on April 16 in Tirana, where the vehicle driven by citizen Anisa Vrioni collided with another vehicle carrying 5 people, who were injured and transported to the hospital.
The case was discovered after Anisa's husband, Ergest Vrioni, is under investigation and wiretapping by SPAK for corruption.
The wiretaps revealed that Traffic Police officers demanded a payment of 2,000 euros from the family of driver Anisa Vrioni for not arresting her.
SPAK reported that the amount of money was requested to be delivered within a short time and was secured by the businessman Ergest Vrioni, with the help of other people, and was handed over to one of the Roadside Officers.
Initially, it is learned that one thousand euros were given to OPGJ Edison Tabaku, near his apartment. Later, Tabaku himself met Erges Vrioni again in a bar near the Traffic Police station and asked for another one thousand euros, after telling him "I have other people on my mind."
A check of Tabaku's phone showed that he had been communicating with his bosses, Roven Zeka and Sokol Novaku, telling them that he would get the other 1,000 euros later from Vrioni, who was his friend, giving him until the next day.
"On April 16, 2025, a road accident occurred in the city of Tirana, where two vehicles collided with each other. As a result of the accident, the five people traveling in one of the vehicles were taken to the hospital to receive medical assistance. While in the other vehicle there was only the driver AV, the wife of citizen EV, suspected of committing the criminal offense of "Active corruption of persons exercising public functions", (provided for by article 244 of the Criminal Code.)
"Following the data and information provided by officers of the National Bureau of Investigation (BKH), it has emerged that traffic police officers have asked the family of the driver of the vehicle, citizen AV, for a payment of 2 thousand euros, for her non-arrest. The amount of money was requested to be handed over within a short time and was secured by the person under investigation EV, with the help of other persons. He handed this amount over to one of the traffic police officers - a fact proven during the investigation." - SPAK announced
Media sources indicate that during the search of Edison Tabaku's apartment, BKH officers seized around 50 million lek (25 million old lek and 26 thousand euros).
The amount of money seized was also confirmed by SPAK, although it was not stated in which apartment it was found.
