Several people arrested for cannabis trafficking from Greece, DPSHTR employee suspended from duty for changing license plates of used cars

As a result of a 6-month investigation conducted with proactive methods, by the Narcotics Investigation Section of the Korça Police Department, under the direction of the Korça Prosecutor's Office, into a case of attempted drug trafficking in Greece, the second phase of the police anti-drug operation codenamed "Shufrat" was finalized. During this phase:

– the security measure “Arrest in prison” was executed for citizens EM, 38 years old, resident of Tirana, and IO, 62 years old, resident of Durrës, for the criminal offense “Drug trafficking”, committed in collaboration. (Citizen IO, currently arrested in Montenegro, for the same criminal offense);

– Citizens FK, 39 years old, resident of Tirana, and EO, 24 years old, resident of Durrës, were declared wanted, for whom the Court has imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense of "Drug trafficking", committed in collaboration.

Investigations suspect that these citizens were collaborating with the 2 citizens who were arrested on 18.11.2024, after they attempted to traffic 56 kg of cannabis sativa into Greece, which they had hidden in 44 metal rods mounted on the roof of the truck.

-Also, the security measure "Suspension of the exercise of a duty or a public service" was executed for citizen AH, 63 years old, resident of Tirana, employee of the DPSHTRR, for the criminal offense "Abuse of duty", as the investigations suspect that he has changed the license plates and ownership of the vehicles used in this criminal activity.
