Albanian drug gang arrested in England, sentenced to several years in prison
A gang of Albanians were arrested in Great Britain after a long investigation which revealed how the group supplied drugs to Eastbourne. Members of the gang were arrested during a police operation where investigators say 25-year-old Jonid Cufaj and his younger brother Julian Cufaj supplied drugs in the Essex region. Both worked with 25-year-old Urim Peraj, who distributed drugs.

The group belonged to the "Tony" line of drug trafficking, which was discovered in text communications. Drugs and mobile phones were seized in the operation. Jonid Cufaj pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of a class A drug from 1 January 2022 to 7 February 2023. At Lees Crown Court on 31 January he was jailed for six and a half years.

Julian Cufaj was found guilty of the same offence, as well as supplying cocaine from 25 November 2022 to 8 February 2022. He was sentenced to five and a half years in total. Urim Peraj was found guilty of supplying cocaine during the same period. He was imprisoned for five years. Arben Vukaj was found not guilty of supplying cocaine. He was found guilty of possession of cannabis.
