Muslim believers celebrate Eid al-Fitr in Skanderbeg Square

Muslim believers celebrate Eid al-Adha today. Thousands of citizens of the Muslim faith prayed this Saturday morning for Eid al-Fitr in the "Skënderbej" square.

According to the Islamic religion, the ritual and celebration of Kurban Bayram begins with its early prayer in the mosque, continues with the cutting of the sacrifice for those who are able and the distribution of meat to people in need, ending with visits to relatives, neighbors, friends and friends

Eid al-Adha is one of two Islamic holidays celebrated by Muslims around the world, the other being Eid al-Fitr. The holiday, according to Islamic tradition, honors Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son as an act of submission to God's command, before God intervened, through his angel Gabriel, to inform Ibrahim that his sacrifice had already been accepted.

The meat from the sacrificed animal is divided into three parts. The family holds a share; the rest is given to relatives, friends and neighbors; while the remainder is distributed to the poor and needy. Otherwise, it is also known as Eid al-Adha, because within the days of this Eid, the ritual pilgrimage to Mecca is also performed. More than 500 pilgrims from Albania are in the holy place.
