Highway blockade and march towards Rinas creates debate among protest

At midnight yesterday, the protest, which has been going on for 15 days, took a different direction. After staying in the square for about three hours and giving the usual speeches in the square by various citizens, the march began on the streets of the city.

Unlike the day before, when they had chosen to march on the eastern side of Tirana, this time the protesters headed towards the Tirana-Durres highway.

For minutes, they completely blocked traffic at this junction, which is one of the most important in the country, also affecting passenger flights, as this road also connects to Rinas Airport.

Some of the protesters were determined to march to Rinas Airport on foot, but after confronting the police, they chose not to clash physically and dispersed.

This unusual march yesterday has also created a kind of debate among the organizers, who are divided into two "fronts of thought." Videos have been published on social networks of people who are against such marches on the grounds that it is physically impossible for many protesters.

Also, this type of group conceives of protest as a peaceful gathering of people and sees this as the only opportunity to gather as many people as possible in the square.

On the other hand, yesterday's group that reached Rinas think that the protests should move to another dimension and such violence or blockades are a version of this.
