The Tirana court has set the security measure "house arrest" for the 30-year-old woman who abandoned her newborn baby in a palace basement in Yzberisht.
At the request of the defense lawyers, the 30-year-old will undergo a psychological examination. The latter stated earlier that she had abandoned the baby as she was not married and the family did not know.
Meanwhile, the newborn male baby died on Thursday morning at the "Koço Gliozheni" maternity hospital.
The "Koço Gliozheni" maternity hospital itself informed that the baby was brought in a severe traumatic condition and after being given first aid, after many efforts it was possible to bring him back to life, even though in a serious condition. However, he passed away at 10:45 on Thursday. The clinical diagnoses of the baby were: Born at term; Delivery via vaginalis; Deep hypothermia; Polytrauma; Pulmonary hemorrhage; Multiorgan failure; Cardiorespiratory arrest.
Mother's testimony
In the testimony to the authorities, police sources said, the young woman stated that the reason she hid the pregnancy and abandoned the baby was because she did not want her family to find out, but also the opinion, as she is not married.
The investigative group has doubts that the 30-year-old woman gave birth to her only baby in the garage of the building and after abandoning her returned to the apartment. As for the father of the baby, she has not yet given any details.
