An Italian Police operation uncovered a drug processing laboratory in Cologno Monzese in Monza, resulting in one arrest and over 6 kg of drugs seized. A 49-year-old Albanian national was arrested and charged with possession and trafficking of large quantities of drugs.

The operation, coordinated by the Monza Public Prosecutor's Office, was carried out last Tuesday afternoon after suspicious activity was reported near a building.

It all started with an anonymous tip that caught the attention of investigators. The tip described a man who regularly visited an apartment in Cologno Monzese and then left, carrying bags. These movements, considered suspicious, prompted officers to launch a series of surveillance and pursuit operations in the area.

First arrest and seizure

Last Tuesday afternoon, the officers' action yielded a first concrete result: the 49-year-old Albanian citizen was stopped and subjected to a search. They found 30 grams of cocaine in his possession, as well as a quantity of a substance commonly used to cut drugs. This initial discovery allowed investigators to investigate further, also thanks to the discovery of keys to an apartment linked to the man.

A search of the apartment revealed a veritable drug lab. Inside, officers found and seized over 4 kg of cocaine and 2 kg of heroin, along with 20 kg of cutting agent, detergents and precision scales. The drugs had already been divided into bags and blocks, packaged and stamped with special tools and dies to stamp the brands onto the packages.

Further checks and seizure of money

The investigation did not stop at the Cologno Monzese laboratory. The officers also expanded their search to the house of the arrested person, which is located in the Lorenteggio district of Milan. There, over 50,000 euros were found and seized, which are believed to be proceeds from drug trafficking. The money was hidden inside the house and, according to investigators, represents the proceeds of the Albanian's illegal operations.
