Mark Antony Samson, the 23-year-old of Thai origin who murdered and threw the lifeless body of Albanian student Ilaria Sula into a ravine, confessed at the 5 o'clock court hearing that he committed the crime alone.
According to Italian media, the perpetrator stated that he did not premeditate the crime and that he committed the murder of his ex-girlfriend on the morning of March 26, after Ilaria spent the night at his house.
The suspect explained that the young woman had gone to his apartment on the evening of the 25th to return some of his clothes. According to the 23-year-old, Ilaria had stayed at his house until late and then decided to sleep there to avoid public transportation.
According to the boy, he and Ilaria had recently ended a relationship that had been going on for several months with ups and downs.
"I did it all myself ," he said in court, while remaining silent when asked about the role of his parents, who were home the night the crime occurred.
It is learned that Mark confessed to loading Ilaria's lifeless body into the car, after locking her in a suitcase, and abandoning her in a valley.
The 23-year-old also claimed that he had cleaned up the scene of the attack in his apartment himself.
His father and mother are not currently under investigation, but investigators are studying their position to understand if there was any involvement in hiding the body.
